Construction characteristics:
The MAST cartridge features a slanted, wider tip and a decentralized needle mounting. Unlike cartridges with a
narrow, straight tip and central guidance, this design does not impose a single, fixed working method.
In this construction:
- the tip is wider and asymmetrical,
- the needle is decentralized relative to the axis of the tip,
- the needle stiffening zone is positioned higher than in Type A cartridges,
- the needle is soldered to a metal component,
- a flexible membrane is used,
- the needle taper is Long Taper.
Needle working characteristics:
In the MAST cartridge, the way the needle works depends on the positioning and rotation of the cartridge in the
hand.
The decentralized needle mounting and slanted tip mean that the working sensation is not uniform.
In practice:
- guiding the needle closer to the lower wall of the slanted tip gives a more flexible working sensation,
- guiding the needle closer to the higher, longer wall makes the needle work more rigidly and more
directly.
With a single cartridge, the working characteristics can therefore be consciously changed without replacing it.
Depending on the positioning and rotation of the cartridge, it is possible to achieve both a more satin-like, soft
finish and a more clearly defined, more directly perceptible dot. Thanks to this design, the MAST cartridge is
often chosen as a universal solution, allowing the working characteristics to be adapted to the technique, the
pigmentation area, and the skin type without changing the cartridge.
Wider, slanted tip:
- accumulates a larger amount of pigment in the needle exit zone,
- retains pigment longer during work.
Combined with the ability to rotate the cartridge, this affects how a single dot is perceived and how it appears
during the procedure.
